Book Review: My Dad is A Policeman by Cathy Glass | Book Review Club

BookReviewClub.com

A novel based on a true story about a boy being foster cared.

It is the story of a 12 year-old boy Ryan who lives with his alcoholic mother and younger brother Tommy. Being placed in a foster carer’s home, he tries hard not to have his brother taken also. He doesn’t succeed and his brother is taken away as well. They are placed at different homes, which makes Ryan upset. The book ends with two happy notes: one about the brothers and one about having a dad who is a policeman.

It is a strong fiction written by a memoirist and experienced foster carer. Worthy of reading.
