How does it differ from a consumer review?”]
An editorial review is an objective and unbiased review by a trained publishing professional, unlike a consumer review, which is prepared by a customer or a friend.
An editorial reviewer provides comments based on the book’s overall clarity, appropriateness of material for the targeted audience, organization, and consistencies, including grammatical and stylistic.
A consumer review only provides some untrained opinion on whether the reviewer likes or dislikes the book.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”What is the purpose of an editorial review?”]
Most authors include editorial reviews in their publicity package, including having them posted on Amazon page and on the back cover of the book. Since an editorial review is objective and unbiased, it provides readers with the confidence in making the decision to buy or not to buy the book.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Do I need to pay to get my book reviewed?”]
You can have your book emailed to us as a PDF, EPUB, or MOBI format on spec (for free) without any guarantee for being reviewed.
However, if within 8 weeks your book hasn’t been reviewed, you can resubmit on spec or choose our Paid Expedited Editorial Review, which is guaranteed.
With Paid Expedited Editorial Review program, your book is guaranteed to be reviewed within 10 business days of payment, excluding weekends and US holidays. The fee is $199.
You can choose to order the Paid Expedited Editorial Review right from the start, to save you valuable time in marketing your book early.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”If I pay for the review, will it be positive?”]
Since we provide editorial reviews, we can’t guarantee a positive review. If you pay for the expedited review, you actually are not paying to receive a positive review. You are paying to get the review expedited and guaranteed to be completed within 10 business days.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Is BookReviewClub.com’s Paid Expedited Editorial Review allowed by Amazon?”]
BookReviewClub.com provides editorial reviews and the review service itself is free.
When you pay for the expedited editorial review, you’re paying for having a professional reviewer to prioritize your book, not for reviewing it. When they review your book, they would need to push aside other job obligations, so you are paying for their time. This being said, they can’t guarantee a positive review.
Amazon allows editorial reviews and it is, in fact, the only type of paid review allowed. Please read the 2nd paragraph of point 4 of this page for assurance. Amazon also has guidelines for editorial reviews, which can be read on this page.

The only type of paid review that Amazon supports is an editorial review. An editorial review is a more formal evaluation of a book usually written by an editor or expert within a genre, but can also be written by family and friends. If you’ve received an editorial review of your book that you’d like to post to the Editorial Review section of your book’s detail page, please visit our Author Central Help Page.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Do you accept ebooks?”]
Yes, we do. Most books are now published in both print and electronic formats or solely in electronic format. We’re in the digital era, thus we have adapted.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Do you accept audiobooks?”]
At the moment, we don’t accept audiobooks. This may, however, change in the future.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”My book is only published electronically as an ebook. Will it hurt the chance of receiving a positive review?”]
No. Our reviewers look for the value of content and reading experience. If the content is fabulous, the format doesn’t really matter.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”When should I get my book reviewed? Before or after publication?”]
If you request for the the editorial review prior to the publish date, you can include the final review on the back cover or inside the book, in addition to using it for publicity and Amazon page.
If you request and receive the editorial review after the publish date, you can still have it posted on your Amazon page, use it for publicity, and have it included in the revised edition of the book.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Who are the reviewers? Can I choose the reviewer?”]
Our reviewers are professional readers, editors, writers, journalists, and professionals who are familiar with the content, the grammatical, and the stylistic aspects of the book. We appoint the reviewer based on suitability and availability. You can’t choose the reviewer by yourself to ensure objectivity and unbiased reviewing process.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”How long is the editorial review? What does it include?”]
The review will be around 150 and fewer than 200 words. It will be divided into three sections: the introduction, the book summary, and the concluding opinion.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Does BookReviewClub.com post the review on Amazon and B&N?”]
No, we don’t post the reviews directly. However, you as the author can post it under Editorial Review section on the book page. For information on where and how you can post the review, refer to Amazon guidelines.
